I’m a lover of great design with a passion for making premium quality products affordable and accessible to everyone.
We’re a bunch of 8 creative minds and talented designers.
I wanted to be an architect because I had a love affair with the beauty of structural design but somewhere along the way, I became fascinated with minimal, functional design. What began as exploratory packaging design evolved into product design and a bit of tech.
Simple, minimal, functional.
My style is definitely modern minimalism. Less is more.
I admire the work of Donald Judd and Scott Wilson but when it comes to design, I first dissect the problem that I am solving and that inspires my design.
Our newest campaign is AL13 v2; the second iteration of our premium aerospace aluminum bumper for iPhone designed to deliver tough protection without the bulkiness of traditional tough cases. Through minimal and thoughtful design, we’ve been able to create one of the first Aluminum bumpers that does not cause any signal loss and we’re really excited about it.

If you still need some convincing after viewing our awesome video and images (not to 'toot our own horns' here)! Let me remind you of a pretty familiar scenario and believe me I've seen it. We’ve all had those moments, you're crammed into a business flight and you’re propping your device up against a soda can or book so you don't have to sit and hold the darn thing through the flight. Come on, admit it - you know what I am talking about. I speak from experience (but my scenario involves a bored 3 year old child on a transatlantic flight) you get my drift. Sure it works but not the most aesthetically pleasing or effective method, right? It was experiences like these that prompted the design of the Gumstick™ stand. It’s amazingly simple, straight out of the box a flat piece of rubber but once you start playing with the product it really starts to take shape. The device bends and molds so that you can position your device at different angles. Hurrah, you can kiss that soda can goodbye!
Well, almost... That is where you come in! To make this amazing product a reality we need your help. As a company we've had some fantastic successes much in part to the support of all of you; however, in the greater scheme of things we're a start up. Developing a product takes more than innovation, dedication, and passion - it takes capital. With the support of backers such as you we know we can successfully bring the Gumstick™ to market. Please take some time to check out our Kickstarter campaign page. We’re offering some fantastic rewards and discounts to those who get in their early. Plus, you’ll be able to read all about Gumstick™, what your funding will support, our production plan and timelines. If you still have unanswered questions reach out to us directly we’d love to hear from you! That said, one last thing.... From all of here at Breffo HQ to all of you thank you in advance for your support!

Today we see the latest event held by Apple since the WWDC event in June where the iOS 7 platform was announced. Today, many people including ourselves here at Breffo are looking to Apple for more innovation than that of their release of the iPhone 5 model nearly a year ago. The problem Apple are currently facing is their competitors seem to be a little ahead of the game with the likes of Samsung releasing the Galaxy Gear Smartwatch at this year's UNPACKED 2013 event in Berlin.
It is said that today's Apple event is the first of two with the focus being on the much talked about iPhone 5C and the 5S as well as the updated iOS7. The second part of this event, which is believed to be scheduled in October, is more than likely going to be the announcement of the updated iPad and Mac OS X software.
The iPhone 5C has been rumored to the the 'C'heaper version of the iPhone 5, with the same screen size as the iPhone 5 but with a 'tough' plastic outer casing, available in a range of different colors. The iPhone 5S on the other hand is said to be available in a 'champagne' colour and contain the much talked about fingerprint scanner to unlock you phone, an apparent 30% increase in speed due to a fast A7 processor and other updates such as an improved camera, larger storage availability and graphics enhancement, longer battery life and improved wi-fi connection.
The apparent fingerprint scanner contains a blue led surround light on the home button.

We are all already aware of the iOS 7 release after the WWDC event in June, but Apple are expected to again today show off the slick new design as well releasing it to the public for download on existing iOS devices. Some updates we should expect include enhancements to existing services provided by Apple such as Passbook, new updates for Siri, Maps and several more.
Some of the redesigned App icons we are expecting to see in iOS 7.

What are your opinions leading up to the Apple event later on today, are you excited or do you feel Apple should pick up the speed and challenge these competitiors?

Breffo recently partnered with Athletes 4 Cancer for their Annual Kite Boarding for Cancer event which took place in beautiful Hood River, Oregon! Since our US headquarters are based out of Portland, OR we were lucky to be approached to be a sponsor for the event and we were thrilled to support such a worthy cause.
As part of the event the Breffo team was on site, handing out free (Yes, free!) product to attendees. In addition, each of the 200 contestants was gifted with one of our Adventure Camera Kits. From what we heard, the product was extremely well received and we are hoping that we will receive some footage taken with this awesome product! One attendee (who also happens to be a pro kiteboarder, Matt Thames) sought us out hoping to get his hands on one of the Adventure Kits!
The crowds were amazing and we absolutely loved being able to speak to attendees about the product but to also hear about their personal stories and why they support Athletes 4 Cancer. The stories were inspiring and humbling and we were beyond honored to support such a worthy cause!
Last, if you follow the blog and our social media outlets it is probably old news that we sponsored an Instagram photo contest at the event - view entries here! Asking attendees to post pics of the product or event, tag @breffo and hashtag their photos #kb4c for the chance to win a GoPro Camera and Breffo product pack! There were some awesome pics entered and we had a tough time choosing our Grand Prize winner, Steve Rubin who hails from Victoria, BC!!
Special thank you shout outs to Tonia Farman and the organizers over at Athletes 4 Cancer for including us, to all the attendees who took the time to come and chat with us, to our Instagram peeps (we loved seeing all of your pictures), and to our gang over at AM:PM PR for helping represent the Breffo team. You all helped make this event one to remember! We will be back next year for sure!
